The sixty-three foot (19m) ketch Stressbreaker
was originally constructed as a sailing vessel for scientific
research in the waters of Patagonia, Tierra Del Fuego and
Southern Chile . She had a second career as one of the
most successful sail/dive yachts in the Red Sea .
In 1996 Stressbreaker was moved to South East Asia
and is now well established as a expeditionary charter yacht
in this area. John and Gill Chamberlain, her owners, are both
skipper and divemaster and they both love to seek little
explored areas, it was an obvious choice to operate in the
Mergui Archipelago. A Thai Cook completes the
team.
Cuisine aboard is a mouth-watering combination of
Thai and European dishes. The price is "All-inclusive", with
complimentary spirits, soft drinks and cold beers available at
all times.
All activities are also included: Masks,
snorkels and fins are supplied for snorkeling. Nine 12 liters
tanks are supplied for diving, refilled from the yacht's high
capacity Bauer K4 compressor, together with weights and belts.
In addition, 2 sets of scuba gear are available for guests
wishing to have a try-dive. 3 persons-Ocean kayaks are also
available to explore the islands.
The teak clad saloon
is air-conditioned and has a dedicated charging station for
strobes and torches. 220 V AC power is available all day,
& the generator is silenced. Three ton water capacity and
a desalinator make water shortage unlikely.
The maximum
of 8 guests are accommodated in four private cabins: two
doubles and two twins. Cabins are light and airy with opening
portholes and hatches. Each cabin has it's own fan and reading
light. The two toilet/showers are cleaned twice
daily.
Comment: Large comfortable ketch with “
All-inclusive” package.
Remark: Cruises are for
a minimum of 7 days. |
